TWENTY ONE PILOTS - CINEMA EXPERIENCE
To celebrate the release of their 2021 album SCALED AND ICY, the band hosted a live stream event for their fans that featured an hour worth of skits, set changes, and musical performances. The band, myself, and Brandon Rike teamed up with Jason Zada and his team to bring the stories we had been writing since the days of the 2015 release of BLURRYFACE into a performance unlike anything the band has done before.
While its exclusive one-night-only premiere anniversary approached, it was decided the stream would be shared once again across the globe but this time in over 2000 movie theaters in 70 countries.
To qualify for a theatrical release I had to add 20 minutes of unseen footage from my archives. Scenes from the early days back in 2011 - a time when we were just starting to figure out how to tour - were cut into the stream along with some behind the scenes footage from our week of rehearsal leading up to the 2021 performance.
